At Pincroft we are one of the world’s most advanced facilities for commission fabric dyeing, printing and finishing and we are a trusted partner for businesses and militaries across the globe.

How does MultiCam® work?
MultiCam® was developed to effectively limit the visual and near-IR signature of the user in a wide range of physical environments and seasons and is described as an “uncompromising concealment option for those who demand the best.”
MultiCam® print patterns take advantage of the way the human eye and brain perceive shape, volume, and colour. Since only a very small portion of the human eye perceives colour, the brain does a lot of “filling-in” for the eye. The unique high-resolution design of MultiCam® takes advantage of this principle and helps the observer to “see” the pattern as part of the background.
Pincroft was the first European commission dyer and finisher to be a MultiCam® fabric printer, making it a historic partnership.
While MultiCam® print patterns are each designed with a specific environment in mind and can be used alone, combining patterns allows the user to increase the substantial performance possibilities of MultiCam® other to meet nearly any operational requirement and cover almost every possible environmental condition to ensure your camouflage needs are met no matter the situation.

Frequently asked questions
MultiCam® is an advanced camouflage pattern developed to perform effectively across a wide range of environments. Rather than being optimised for a single terrain, it is designed to adapt to varying conditions including changes in light, vegetation and landscape.
It is widely used by military, law enforcement and specialist tactical markets, as well as in selected civilian outdoor applications.
MultiCam® Original was engineered as a multi-environment camouflage solution. Its key advantage lies in its ability to perform consistently across diverse terrains, seasons and lighting conditions.
Unlike traditional camouflage patterns designed for a single environment, MultiCam® is effective in woodland, desert and arid regions, as well as transitional landscapes such as grasslands, scrub and rocky terrain. It also performs well in mixed urban and natural settings.
This adaptability reduces the need for multiple uniform systems, supporting operational efficiency across varied environments.
Yes. MultiCam® is proprietary intellectual property owned by Crye Precision.
The pattern itself is protected, and the MultiCam® name and logo are registered trademarks. Any commercial use requires a formal licence agreement and must follow strict approval guidelines.
The MultiCam® family includes several variants developed for specific environments:
- MultiCam® Original
- MultiCam® Arid
- MultiCam® Tropic
- MultiCam® Alpine
- MultiCam® Black
- Irish Transitional Multi Pattern (ITMP)
Each variant is engineered to optimise concealment within its intended operational setting.
No. The camouflage pattern and colour palette must not be altered.
This includes any modification, overlay or integration with other graphics or logos. Maintaining pattern integrity is essential to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and performance standards.
MultiCam® can only be produced by authorised manufacturers such as Pincroft.
All fabric substrates must be approved by Crye Precision or its licensing partners prior to bulk production. This ensures the pattern performs correctly and meets required technical standards.
MultiCam® is widely adopted by military and security forces across Europe, the Americas, Australasia and parts of Asia. Its versatility makes it suitable for a broad range of operational environments worldwide.
Yes. Pincroft is an authorised European printer of MultiCam® fabrics and can produce all approved variants in line with licensing requirements.
Yes. Samples are provided as part of the approval process.
These are submitted for First Article Approval to confirm that the fabric meets all technical and visual requirements before bulk production begins.
All new fabric constructions must undergo First Article Approval by Crye Precision. This involves submission of a sample, including Near Infrared (NIR) performance data.
Once approved, bulk production can begin. Samples from each production batch must then be submitted for lot approval before the material can be released.
Approval timelines typically take up to three weeks per stage.
MultiCam® specifications for Near Infrared reflectance typically fall within the 600nm to 860nm range.
Precise performance requirements are defined by Crye Precision and must be met to achieve approval. Detailed specifications are provided as part of the licensing framework.
Minimum order quantities depend on the fabric type and construction.
Typical volumes range from 1,000 to 3,000 metres. Specific requirements are confirmed at the enquiry stage.
Lead times vary depending on fabric selection, finishing requirements and approval timelines.
Production programmes should account for substrate approval, First Article Approval and lot approval stages alongside manufacturing.
All MultiCam® printing at Pincroft is carried out at its UK manufacturing site, ensuring full control over quality, compliance and delivery.
A range of finishes can be applied, including flame retardant, waterproofing, antimicrobial and permethrin treatments.
All finishes must maintain pattern integrity and comply with NIR performance requirements.
Yes. MultiCam® fabrics can be laminated or coated, including PU coatings, provided the camouflage performance and NIR compliance are fully maintained.
Royalty payments are required for all MultiCam® production and are set by Crye Precision.
